Installation – adapted to existing piping system

The installation included:

  • 2 × WP1-P3-1000
    The main generator set consists of four MAN 9L21/31 diesel engines, each rated at 1980 kW.
    One filter system serves two engines.

The existing piping from the decommissioned separators was reused as much as possible. Old transfer pumps and centrifugal separators were removed to make room for the new GreenOil systems. Electrical preheaters were kept, but new by-pass lines were installed so the preheaters can be used only when necessary – for example, during cold starts or engine downtime. The temperature is now limited to a maximum of 60°C.

Modern filtration replaces traditional separators on board the offshore vessel Skandi Flora.In February 2024, Skandi Flora replaced its traditional centrifugal separators for lubrication oil cleaning with GreenOil filtration systems – a more reliable, low-maintenance, and energy-saving solution.

Before and after – clear visual improvements

Following the installation, the GreenOil systems have delivered impressive results. One of the clearest improvements is seen during piston rod inspection:

Before installation:
The image shows dark, sooty oil and visible deposits – a result of insufficient filtration by the previous system.

After installation:
After just a few months of operation, the oil appears significantly cleaner and the piston rod is nearly free from visible contaminants.

This demonstrates that GreenOil effectively removes soot and microparticles that conventional separators fail to capture.
