A Closer Look - UV disinfection System
UV light is effective against contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, mould spores, algae and other micro-organisms as it prevents growth and reproduction. If left untreated, these organisms remain in the water and produce a bio-film coating throughout the water system which harbours more bacteria and makes the water less safe to use or drink.
As flow rate increases, the time in seconds in which the water is exposed to UV light in the Reactor Chamber reduces, therefore the smaller the dosage. When SABRE Systems operate at the intended flow rate a consistent dosage of 30mJ/cm2 is produced. Systems can operate at different flow rates to achieve greater dosage or higher flow rates to suit the application requirements.
