Filtration with simple operation

Forsta Filters systems apply a simple yet highly effective principle to remove contaminants from water. The filters consist of a fine mesh or perforated screen that prevents particles from passing through the water flow. As water passes through the filter, particles are retained on the inside of the screen while clean water continues downstream. This ensures continuous filtration without compromising flow efficiency.

What sets Forsta Filters apart is that the process does not stop at filtration alone. The systems are designed to automate filter cleaning, eliminating the need for frequent manual intervention.

Self-cleaning mechanism

At the core of Forsta Filters’ technology is the self-cleaning function, which maintains optimal performance without manual intervention. When particles accumulate on the inner surface of the filter and the differential pressure increases, the self-cleaning cycle is automatically activated.

The process begins with a backflush, where a small portion of the filtered water is used for cleaning. A suction scanner moves along the inner surface of the filter screen, creating a vacuum that removes the accumulated particles. This cleaning process takes place without interrupting water flow or stopping the system, allowing filtration to continue uninterrupted.

The self-cleaning cycle is extremely fast—lasting only a few seconds-and uses a minimal amount of water, making the system both energy efficient and environmentally responsible.

Benefits of self-cleaning systems

Forsta Filters’ self-cleaning technology provides several key advantages:

  • Continuous operation – No shutdowns for maintenance, reducing downtime and increasing efficiency
  • Minimal water consumption – Cleaning requires very little water, conserving resources and supporting sustainability
  • Lower maintenance costs – Automated cleaning reduces the need for manual inspection and servicing
  • Consistent performance – High filtration efficiency is maintained throughout operation, even under demanding conditions

Adaptable solutions for diverse applications

Forsta Filters’ systems can be adapted to a wide range of applications. In industrial environments, filtration protects machinery and equipment from wear and damage. In agriculture, irrigation systems operate reliably without clogging caused by particles.

Within municipal water systems, the filters help ensure clean and safe water for public use. In aquaculture, they contribute to maintaining optimal water conditions for fish and seafood production. The self-cleaning technology ensures reliable filtration even when water quality varies significantly.

Reliable and environmentally responsible

Forsta Filters places strong emphasis on environmental responsibility. The low water and energy consumption of the self-cleaning process makes these systems well suited for organizations seeking to reduce their environmental footprint. In addition, the use of durable materials such as stainless steel ensures long service life and minimal wear, reducing the need for frequent replacements and maintenance.

How the filtration systems work

Forsta Filters is recognized for its advanced and highly efficient filtration technology, combining automation, ease of operation, and durable design. The filtration systems are engineered to remove particles from water flows while reducing maintenance requirements and energy consumption. The systems are based on a self cleaning mechanism that optimizes both performance and uptime, making them well suited for demanding applications within industry, agriculture, municipal water systems, and aquaculture.
