In 2012, Sekkingstad AS implemented the filtration system to address fish particles in seawater and debris from slaughter equipment. Almost a decade later, the systems were reviewed to confirm that they continued to deliver the desired results and perform as expected.
A clear challenge from the start
During installation, it quickly became evident that waste handling was a major challenge for the processing plant. Ditech, in close cooperation with HiFlux, developed effective filtration solutions to manage this waste. The self cleaning filters have proven to be an efficient way to handle both fish particles and debris generated during the slaughter process.
Efficient waste management
The installed filtration solutions effectively remove all fish particles and debris, which are then treated as special waste. This ensures safe and environmentally responsible waste handling. The water discharged to the sea after filtration is completely clean, without traces of contamination. This helps protect the marine environment and ensures that Sekkingstad AS operations do not negatively impact their surroundings.
A successful solution
We are pleased to confirm that the filtration solutions have performed as expected and even exceeded expectations. The systems have not only reduced the volume of waste requiring handling, but also improved the quality of the discharged water. This represents a significant improvement for Sekkingstad AS, supporting more sustainable operations and stronger environmental practices.
Looking ahead
We look forward to continuing our cooperation with Sekkingstad AS and other industry players to further develop and improve our filtration solutions. With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, our goal is to contribute to an even cleaner and more efficient seafood industry in the future.
Ditech is proud to have delivered a solution that both improves operations at Sekkingstad AS and protects the environment. We thank Sekkingstad AS for their trust and look forward to many years of continued cooperation.
Sekkingstad AS installed one of our filtration solutions in 2012 to remove fish particles from seawater and debris from slaughter machinery. Nearly ten years later, we returned to the processing plant to evaluate whether the filtration still meets the customer’s expectations. Ditech’s proven filter solution, developed in cooperation with HiFlux, proved to be the right answer for handling waste from the slaughter process. The removed particles are handled as special waste, while the water discharged to the sea is clean.

“We evaluated several far more expensive alternatives, but chose this solution. It is a simple, mechanical, and functional filter at a reasonable cost. The filter separates particles from the transport water and makes a significant difference for us.”
