Trønderbas is designed for modern pelagic fishing, with solutions that combine efficient catch handling, comfortable facilities, and high safety standards. The vessel is intended for pelagic species such as herring, mackerel, and blue whiting, and is built at Westcon Yards, a Norwegian shipyard with extensive experience in advanced shipbuilding. The vessel represents a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability within the fishing fleet.

Engine and energy

The vessel is equipped with a Wärtsilä 8V31 main engine rated at 5200 kW, providing a robust and reliable propulsion solution. With modern energy systems and a strong focus on efficiency, Trønderbas is designed for future oriented fisheries with reduced emissions and optimal fuel utilisation.

Trønderbas is a state of the art pelagic vessel built at Westcon Yards in Ølensvåg and owned by the shipping company Ivan Ulsund. With a strong focus on Norwegian quality and future oriented technology, the vessel is designed to combine efficient operations with environmentally responsible solutions and a high level of comfort for the crew.

Westcon Yards in Ølensvåg is renowned for delivering modern and advanced vessels for both the fisheries and offshore sectors. Trønderbas is a prime example of Norwegian shipbuilding at its best, constructed with a focus on quality, technology, and forward looking design.

WP1‑C2‑2000 for fuel oil filtration (MDO/MGO)
  • Capacity: 2,400 liters per hour
  • Function: Removes particles and water from fuel oil, as well as bacterial contamination
WP1‑P2‑1500 for lubrication oil filtration
  • Capacity: 1,300–1,560 liters per hour
  • Application: Main engine Wärtsilä 8V31
  • Function: Ensures clean oil for optimal engine performance

Installed filtration solutions

To ensure optimal operation and maximum engine protection, the following systems have been supplied and installed onboard Trønderbas:

Pre‑filter
  • Micron rating: 100 microns
  • Function: Maintains clean oil to ensure smooth and efficient operation
GreenOil Oil Preheater

The preheater warms the oil before filtration, which is particularly useful when the oil is cold or operating at low temperatures, ensuring the filtration process performs optimally.
