Developed for seawater filtration

This automatic self-cleaning filter, constructed in duplex, is designed for demanding operations within aquaculture, where continuous seawater filtration is a critical part of the process. All materials and components are carefully selected to withstand corrosive environments and heavy duty operation.

The filter is installed vertically, providing significant advantages in facilities with limited space. Vertical installation also enables the unit to operate with lower inlet pressure compared to many traditional solutions that require higher pressure for draining and cleaning. This ensures reliable performance in applications with fluctuating water volumes and varying pressure conditions.

Seawater filtration with efficient self-cleaning

Effective seawater filtration requires equipment that withstands harsh environments, fluctuating water quality and high particle loads. This vertical, automatic self-cleaning filter in duplex is developed for aquaculture and combines robust materials with a scraper system that removes shells, seaweed and other particles without interrupting operation.

Self-cleaning scraper system in duplex

Inside the filter housing is a scraper system manufactured from duplex material. The scrapers are a key part of the filtration process; they continuously clean the inside of the screen basket and push particles to the bottom of the chamber. Particle discharge is handled without interrupting filtration, and the outlet cycle is controlled electronically via the control panel.

This provides a physical and efficient filtration method that not only captures fine impurities, but also tolerates larger and more irregular particles than many other solutions.

Handles heavy particle loads

The filter is specifically designed for seawater of varying quality. It is engineered to remove shells, seaweed, plastic fragments, and organic material typically present in seawater intake. The robust construction ensures that the filter can withstand higher particle loads and more abrasive particles without loss of performance.

Vertical installation makes the filter space-efficient and allows it to operate effectively even under lower pressure conditions.

The filter tolerates high particle loads and removes shells, seaweed, plastic debris, and other organic matter from seawater.    

The duplex scrapers rotate on the inside of the screen when a defined differential pressure is reached, pushing particles to the bottom of the chamber before the filter opens automatically via the control panel.
